The other day I was driving around and I saw a bunch of rainbow flags hanging. I said to myself, “I wish I had a flag that I could use to show my pride.” But then I thought, no, that would just cause conflict. I then realized that worrying about “not causing conflict,” is the problem with what is going on in the world today.  The “silent majority” is letting the “loud” special interest groups control how we live. The best example I can think of when the silent majority spoke was when Donald Trump was elected president. I’m not making any judgement about if this was good or not.  I’m just saying before the election all of the “loud” special interest groups were saying there was no way he was going to win the election, but the majority spoke.  Even after he was elected the special interest groups staged protests trying to change the election results. This example shows what a small showing of the people representing the majority can do. I still believe most of the people representing the majority opinion did not speak up. The only reason people making policy and laws have any power over us is because we let them. The majority has the power to change things. We just have to speak up. I believe we need to speak up and show our pride, so let’s let the straight blue flag stand for the silent majority and let’s not be silent any more.
